DESCRIPTION:When CounterPULSE, the alternative arts space known for its "commitment to 
 uncategorizable, cutting-edge performance," throws a music benefit, it's 
 much more than your average rock show.  This July the popular Rock 4 Art 
 returns for a third year, uniting over 50 performance mavericks to benefit 
 their favorite arts organization. In this truly eclectic evening, Brazilian 
 samba musicians Sambagode share the stage with trans rock sex symbol Shawna 
 Virago, an orchestra of (literally) 50 guitars, and popular bands like 
 Dyspecific, the Judea Eden Band, and Audrey Howard and the Misters (of the 
 late and famous gender-bending band, Wood).\n \nHot on the heels of its 
 sold-out world premiere, Exit Sign: A Rock Opera returns to the stage, 
 while Jessica Fudim's Dance Animals offer a sneak preview of their new rock 
 theater extravaganza.  Critically acclaimed performance artist Sara Kraft 
 makes a rare musical appearance, returning to her roots as an "avant garde 
 chanteuse".  Simone de la Getto of Harlem Shake Burlesque provides a 
 titillating interlude, while Amelia Mae Paradise and Sarah Paradise of the 
 Diamond Daggers host an unrepeatable evening that collides rock-n-roll,
