 women lost many of the\nrights they had attained in the past 100 years, 
 they\nhave continuously strived to improve their social and\npolitical 
 status. Consequently they have established\ntheir presence in different 
 spheres of life,\nparticularly that of civil society. This conference\nwill 
 examine the socio-political needs of the Iranian\nwoman in regards to 
 ethnicity, gender, religion, class\nbackground, sexuality, and sexual 
 orientation.\n\nhe Iranian Women's Studies Foundation (IWSF) is 
 a\nnon-profit organization. It has no affiliation to any\npolitical or 
 religious group or organization, and aims\nto provide a forum for the 
 exchange of ideas on issues\nrelated to Iranian women, to disseminate 
 information\non Iranian women's achievements, and to establish a\nnetwork 
 of communication among communities of Iranian\nwomen the world
