DESCRIPTION:Animal Place, 3448 Laguna Creek Trail, Vacaville, will hold a farm tour and
 book signing on Saturday (May 31), noon to 3:30 p.m. There's a $10 fee.
Visitors 10 years of age and older will meet Nicholas the calf, Aiden the
sheep, Flo the goat and scores of other farm animals.\n\nAfter the tour,
Mark Hawthorne, author of "Striking at the Roots: A Practical Guide to
Animal Activism," and Erin Williams and Margo DeMello, authors of "Why
Animals Matter: The Case for Animal Protection," will read from their books
and share experiences advocating for the protection of farm animals.\n\nAnd
it's a great opportunity to talk about the Prevention of Farm Animal
Cruelty Act, a measure that will be on November's ballot that will provide
some basic and critically-needed protections to millions of farm animals
crammed into abusive cages on California factory farms.\n\nRegistration and
pre-payment are required for all tours. Register and get more details at
www.animalplace.org or call 707-449-4814.\n\nAnimal Place gives refuge to
 neglected farm animals.\n
