DESCRIPTION:Steven Hill is Director of the Political Reform Program at the New America 
 Foundation, and his most recent book is "10 Steps to Repair American 
 Democracy." His previous books include "Fixing Elections: The Failure of 
 America's Winner Take All Politics," and "Whose Vote Counts." Mr. Hill's 
 articles and commentaries have appeared in The New York Times, Washington 
 Post, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, Christian Science Monitor, 
 San Francisco Chronicle, Fresno Bee, Chicago Tribune, Houston Chronicle, 
 Miami Herald, The Nation, Salon.com, Ms. and other leading publications. 
 Mr. Hill has appeared on national and local radio and television programs, 
 and has lectured widely in the United States and Europe. He was campaign 
 manager for the successful efforts in San Francisco and Oakland that passed 
 instant runoff voting for electing local offices, and was one of the 
 organizers of successful efforts to pass public financing of elections for 
 local campaigns in San Francisco.\n\nThis event is free to the public and 
 wheelchair accessible.  Central Valley Electoral Reform and the Social 
 Justice Committee of the UU Church of Fresno are sponsoring this event.
