DESCRIPTION:So here are the details for the event that we are attending.\n\nFriday,
April 11, 2008 from 10-11am\nLocation: Las Positas College, Bldg. 2400,
Lecture Hall 2420, 3000 Campus Hill Drive, Livermore, CA 94551\n\nOn its
surface this sounds like a great event that sustainability and
environmental advocates should applaud. In fact, Las Positas College is my
old community college and one of the panelists is a well-respected
Professor in the College of Conservation and Resource Studies at my other
college, the University of California at Berkeley. \n\nBut...dig a little
deeper and you'll see why we are holding our protest.\n\nBefore the event
begins I am going to confront my elected representative to join me in
signing a clean campaigns/clean air petition. I entered this race because
I wanted to prevent candidates and legislators from accepting donations
from companies that don't have more than 70% of their investments in Clean
Energy. Before Assemblymember Mary Hayashi took office she was accepting
donations from Chevron and Sempra Energy as well as some firms closely
connected to appealing Federal and State Clean Air mandates. A look at her
campaign filing for her re-election this year reveal donations from two of
 California's largest polluters.\n\nCHEVRON
 CORPORATION\n$1000.00\n7/27/2007\n1281491-A1260\n\nSEMPRA
 ENERGY\n$1,000.00\n1/28/2008\n1307662-A1314\n\nCHEVRON
 CORPORATION\n$1,000.00\n3/24/2008\n1320247-A1402\n\nSEMPRA
ENERGY\n$1,000.00\n3/24/2008\n1320247-A1413\n\nAnd look who is looking to
escape future responsibility for another Cosco/Busan incident in the Bay
 Area...\n\nSAN FRANCISCO BAR PILOTS
 PAC\n$2,000.00\n3/10/2008\n1317591-F497P1-1465\n\nAnd this relationship all
started after she had won the primary back in 2006.\n\nCHEVRONTEXACO
 CORPORATION\n$1,000.00\n9/29/2006\n1202972-F497P1-970\n\nMary touts her
100% Pro-Environment record which is great until voters and activists
realize that those votes are hollow. Take a look what she drives for her
commute from the district to her Capitol Office. The efforts to author
legislation that authorizes municipal governments to have more of a say in
where and when energy companies open their doors for business came AFTER
public outcry in my community and AFTER one new plant had already been
built on the Hayward Shoreline!!!\n\nIf you have any questions or would
like to help, please contact me at 925-914-9559 or email me at
jason.teramoto@gmail.com\n\nThanks for your support and I hope you can join
us to show Sacramento that their games and their hypocrisy ends in
 08!\n\nSincerely,\n\n\n\nJason Teramoto\nTeramoto for Assembly
