DESCRIPTION:CALLING ALL TEACHERS,  STAFF MEMBERS & CONCERNED CITIZENS:\n\nGet the word 
 out to the general public, the government, and the media just how 
 devastating proposed budget cuts will be to the education of all children 
 in California's  public schools.  Around 1,000 people received pink slips.  
 It is our goal to have all these pink slips revoked as the legislature or 
 the governor himself reverses these proposed cuts.\n\n--WHAT:  
 DEMONSTRATION & MARCH\n\n--WHEN: Saturday April 19th, 9:15 AM\n\n--WHERE:  
 Balboa Park: grass at corner of Park Ave. & Presidents Way\n\n--WHY: 
 Protest the budget cuts to education\n\n--PARK:  On Street, Balboa Park 
 Parking, Veterans Admin Parking (across street)\n\n\n\nWe need EVERYONE'S 
 help!-- this is truly a grassroots effort!!\n\n\n\n--We will walk from 
 Balboa Park to the State Building downtown (see attached flier).\n--We need 
 as many people as possible.\n--Participants are to include parents, 
 children, teachers, staff, UC and Cal State students and staff, community 
 college students and staff, friends, family and all others who care about 
 the education of California's children.\n--All teachers should call the 
 Union office at (619) 283-4411 or go to their website at sdea.net   to give 
 them your home phone and/or personal email so we can contact 
 everyone.\n\nWhat we need from every teacher, staff member and concerned 
 citizen:\n--Participate in the walk\n--Call/ EMAIL everyone you know that 
 could possibly participate in the walk.\n--Help in anyway even if it is to 
 just make posters or provide carpools...\n--Get the PTA at your schools 
 involved and active in supporting this cause.\n--Hand out fliers in your 
 neighborhood.\n\n--Go to CTA.org   and use the links ("tell your lawmaker 
 to reject the proposal") to send your reps in Sacramento an email voicing 
 your disapproval.\n\nThese budget cuts are taxes on all the children and 
 families of the public school system in California.\nLess teachers and less 
 resources for the schools means less resources for the students and less 
 attention paid to every student.\nWe should not balance the state budget on
