 OPD.\n* The indictment of the police who shot and murdered Jose Luis and 
 Casper Banjo. \n* The City of Oakland end its public policy of police 
 containment of the African and Mexican communities. \n* The City of Oakland 
 do a massive infusion of capital into East and West Oakland for economic 
 development of the African and Mexican communities.\n\n$7.7 Million Gives 
 OPD the License to Kill!\n\nOn March 4th, the Oakland City Council approved 
 Mayor Ron Dellums’ request for $7.7 million to recruit and train more 
 Oakland police. As the family of Jose Luis said, "They are paying them to 
 kill our children."\n\nWithin two weeks of the approval of the funds, 
 Oakland police killed world-renowned African artist Casper Banjo and 
 15-year-old Jose Luis Buenrostro-Gonzalez, a Mexican student at Oakland 
 Aviation High School. Both killings occurred in East Oakland near the 
 Eastmont Police Station within a mile and a half of each other. \n\nThe 
 Oakland police and media continue to slander and intimidate the African and 
 Mexican communities in an attempt to justify these murders. We must take a 
 stand against this lack of consideration for African and Mexican life and 
 the continued attacks on these communities. \n\n\n
