DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an in-depth exploration of the way that class impacts 
 our personal identities, our relationships, our institutions, and our 
 society as a whole. In the United States, discussing class issues is taboo, 
 perhaps even more so than other aspects of personal identity such as race, 
 sexuality and religion. Feelings of shame and/or guilt at being poorer, or 
 richer than others leads to secrecy and silence, which only perpetuates 
 myths around class in America and reinforces the growing divisions amongst 
 us.\n\nClass Action has more than five years of experience in creating safe 
 spaces for people to come together across the class spectrum and engage in 
 dialogue that deepens their understanding of the impact of class in their 
 lives. Some of the types of questions we are likely to explore in this 
 day-long event include:\n\n• What are your assumptions about class? What 
 would you like to people to understand about your class background? What 
 would you most like to know about theirs?\n\n• How do class dynamics show 
 up in your life? Your work? Your home? Your relationships and 
 community?\n\n• To what extent is your current economic class different 
 from your class background? What impact, if any, has class mobility had on 
 your sense of identity and relationships with people of the same and 
 different classes?\n\n• What are steps you can take to overcome class 
 barriers in your life personally and institutionally?\n\nCost: Costs for 
 this one-day workshop are $175 for individuals and $250 for organizations, 
 with scholarships available for those who need it. We are seeking as 
 diverse a group as possible and will not exclude anyone based on their
