DESCRIPTION:STEPHEN ELLIOTT & CO.\nreading & booksigning for "Sex For America:
 Politically Inspired Erotica"\nTuesday, March 25 at 7:00 pm\nat The
Booksmith (1644 Haight Street in San Francisco)\n \nFrom Monica
Lewinsky’s stained dress to Larry Craig’s bathroom tendencies, its fair
to say sex and politics are inextricably commingled. In the just released
anthology, "Sex For America: Politically Inspired Erotica," Stephen Elliott
brings together writers who explore the intersection of sexual desire and
political belief. Joining us for this special event will be contributors
Nick Flynn, Anthony Swofford, and Michelle Richmond.\n \nStephen Elliott,
in addition to being a former stripper, is the author of six books
including Happy Baby, a finalist for the New York Public Library’s Young
Lion Award. Originally from Chicago, Elliott was a Stegner Fellow at
Stanford, where he now teaches, and is a member of the San Francisco
Writers’ Grotto. He is also the founder of the Progressive Reading
Series, which helps authors raise money for and participate on behalf of
progressive candidates across the country. \n\nThis Booksmith sponsored
event will take place at The Booksmith (1644 Haight Street in San
Francisco). For further information, call 415-863-8688 or visit
www.booksmith.com If you can't attend this event and would like to
order a signed copy of the author's new book, please email or phone our
 store. \n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2008/03/18/18486576.php
