 were responsible for providing leadership and material support in\nthe 
 politically motivated and planned attacks.\n\nShabnam Hashmi will speak to 
 cultural resistance by grassroots groups working for justice in Gujarat, 
 and to the dynamics of\nelectoral politics culminating in December 2007 
 with the reelection of Narendra Modi as chief minister.\n\nSHABNAM HASHMI
