DESCRIPTION:Strengthening the Roots: Food, Justice, & Fair Trade Convergence will be 
 held in Santa Cruz, California from February 15 to 18. The Convergence will 
 be the largest regional meeting exclusively dedicated to fair trade and 
 sustainable food and will be a rallying point that will inspire continued 
 engagement throughout the 2007-2008 school year and beyond. At the event, 
 organized by United Students for Fair Trade and the California Student 
 Sustainability Coalition’s (sustainabilitycoalition.org) Foods Initiative, 
 students will gain skills to act for greater social, environmental, and 
 economic justice in their local communities and institutions, learn from 
 successful models and case studies, build lasting relationships toward 
 future collaborations, and acquire an enriched skill set to foster
