DESCRIPTION:"America Is Hard to See" offers de Antonio’s take on the 1968 Democratic
primaries, “seen from the POV of liberals and Eugene McCarthy.” The
film addresses the assassinations of Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy
and the chaos of the Chicago Democratic Convention, attempting to explain,
in de Antonio’s words, the “failure of liberal peace politics, and
why.” In the satirical compilation "Millhouse: A White Comedy", Richard
Milhous Nixon proves the perfect target for de Antonio’s scathing eye.
Critics, however, have complimented the film as richer than caricature and
surprisingly sympathetic.\n\n$5 general, students and seniors. Program
tickets are available at the Museum (no surcharge) or through
www.sfmoma.org/tickets (surcharge applies). Double features: films offered
on the same date are included in one ticket.\n\n\n\n
