DESCRIPTION:On Monday, March 3rd, at 6:30pm, an open meeting will be held at the Peace 
 and Justice Center (467 Sebastopol Ave, Santa Rosa CA.) with local and 
 national activists, to discuss plans for protesting and disrupting the 
 upcoming Republican National Convention. The event is sponsored by Petaluma 
 CopWatch and the RNC Welcoming Committee. Organizers are calling on all 
 groups around the nation to converge on Minneapolis/St.Paul from September 
 1st to the 4th to shut down the Convention, which will be held at the Xcel 
 Energy Center in the Twin Cities. In Sonoma County, we will be discussing 
 different strategies and tactics for the protest, there will be a workshop 
 on direct action, and we will be putting together a delegation of 
 organizers from Sonoma County to represent our local social movements at 
 the national protests this fall. \n\nThis event is part of a national tour 
 by the RNC Welcoming Committee to network with local groups, and to gather 
 information, ideas, and resources for the mobilizations in 
 Minnesota.\n\nPetaluma CopWatch is a local organization comprised of 
 students and workers who monitor police activity, mobilize the community 
 against police brutality, and conduct Know Your Rights trainings to spread 
 awareness of how to assert civil rights. The organization was founded in 
 May 2006. \n\nThe RNC Welcoming Committee is an 
 anarchist/anti-authoritarian organizing body formed to prepare for the 2008 
 Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota. The RNC-WC, composed 
 primarily of Twin Cities-based anarchists and anti-authoritarians, will 
 function as an informational clearinghouse and organize a spokescouncil for 
 RNC resistance. We will coordinate logistics (food, housing, 
 transportation), and engage in education and outreach.\n\nFor more
