DESCRIPTION:Saturday, January 19, 1 and 3 p.m. Tickets: $5 includes both films.\nRush
 to Judgment, 1966, 98 min. \nIn the Year of the Pig, 1968, 103 min.\nA
seminal refutation of the Warren Commission Report on the assassination of
President John F. Kennedy, Rush to Judgment offers no definitive
conclusions, but it simply and concisely reveals the contradictions and
assumptions in the report—and provides a cool-headed defense for Lee
Harvey Oswald. The style de Antonio employs is radically plain and raw,
allowing the viewer to consider the comments of the 26 individuals
interviewed without aesthetic distractions. Made with attorney Mark Lane,
Rush to Judgment remains a benchmark for investigations of the
assassination. Perhaps the most radical film ever nominated for an Academy
Award, In the Year of the Pig examines the historical roots of the Vietnam
War and argues polemically for its end. The film’s political provocation
roused the interest and scrutiny of FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, who
developed an extensive file on de Antonio. This screening features a
 recently restored print.\n
