DESCRIPTION:There will be a statewide ballot measure in June which would repeal rent 
 control (for more info, see http://www.sftu.org). Defeating this measure 
 will require hard work, which we must begin now. If we lose, hundreds of 
 thousands could lose their homes and San Francisco would be forever 
 changed.\n \nOn Saturday, January 19, there will be a citywide meeting of 
 tenants and organizations to plan and initiate our campaign here in San 
 Francisco. The convention will be at 474 Valencia from 1-4 PM. Translation 
 services will be provided and we’re working to line up child care. We 
 have lots of work to do—defeating this measure will largely be on the 
 backs of tenants In San Francisco and Los Angeles so please try to come and
