DESCRIPTION:On the Anniversary of the 1947 UN Partition of Palestine\n"The Palestine
 Liberation Struggle—Then & Now"\n\nNovember 29, 2007 marks the 60th
anniversary of the United Nations vote to divide Palestine, supposedly into
two states, one Jewish and one Arab. There was no consultation before with
the Palestinians who made up 70% of the population. The UN vote and the war
that followed created the state of Israel on 78% of Palestine, made
refugees of 750,000 Palestinians, and led to a struggle which continues to
the present day. In the 1970s, the November 29 was designated
“International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People” by the
UN. \n\nAmong the topics to be discussed:\n• What’s behind
Washington’s massive economic, political and military support to
Israel?\n\n• The current situation in Palestine and the U.S.–engineered
“peace summit” in Annapolis\n\n• Why the Right of Return for expelled
Palestinians remains a key issue\n\nFeatured Speakers:\nMichel Shehadeh, LA
8 Defendant and long-time Palestinian activist \nRichard Becker, Western
 Region Coordinator, ANSWER Coalition\n\n
