DESCRIPTION:Message from Santa Cruz City Councilmember Tony Madrigal\n\nCall to
Action!\n\nCome help distribute Free Protective Face Masks & Information in
Preparation for the Light Brown Apple Moth aerial spraying over our
Community\n\nAs most of you may already know, a judge has denied both the
County and the City our request for a temporary restraining order to halt
the aerial spraying over our communities next week to eradicate the Light
Brown Apple Moth. Clearly this is a setback and I have already asked the
Mayor to call for an emergency joint meeting of the County Supervisors &
City Council to discuss next steps. In the meantime, based on the high
number of community concerns, emails, phone calls, public comments at City
Council meetings, etc., I have decided to organize a distribution of free
protective face masks this Sunday, November 4 th to people in the community
along with important resource information. The goal is to provide
concerned community members with information and a free protective face
mask that could help provide them with some protection. \n\nThe masks have
been generously donated by local medical professionals offices and
retailers including Santa Cruz Medical Foundation, Salud Para La Gente
Inc., The Ark Animal Hospital, Santa Cruz Animal Hospital, Companion Animal
Hospital, and Longs Drugs.\n\nI would be honored if you could join me to
help distribute the free face masks and information. \n\nWHAT:
Distribution of Free Protective Face Masks & Information in Preparation for
the Light Brown Apple Moth aerial spraying over our Community\n\nWHEN:
4:00PM-6:00PM, Sunday, November 4, 2007\n\nWHERE: Downtown Santa Cruz,
corner of Pacific Avenue & Cooper Street\n\nWHO: Santa Cruz
City Councilmember Tony Madrigal and community volunteers\n\nPlease email
Tony Madrigal at tonymadrigal@gmail.com or call (831) 295-2518 to let him
know that you'll be coming to help or if you have any questions.\n
