DESCRIPTION:You Spoke – We Listened!\n \nWe’ve responded to feedback we received
regarding the movie we chose for our November meeting. Since most people
have already seen "An Inconvenient Truth" (and Al Gore has not yet thrown
his hat into the Presidential race), we’ve decided to show another film
this month. A great film recently became available, and so we’re going
to take this opportunity to bring you No End In Sight!\n\n \n\nPlease RSVP
Here: http://www.dfalink.com/event.php?id=24756\n\nNo End In Sight, winner
of the 2007 Sundance Special Jury Prize: Documentary, has received
incredible reviews. Time Magazine has called the film "Without a doubt the
most important film you are likely to see this year," and it is possibly
the best reviewed film of the entire year, as you can see from the
selection of critic quotes below. \n\nJoin us this Wednesday to see for
yourself - This film makes a case against Bush’s Iraq policy, even by
some of those who helped put those policies into place.\n \nWe’ll provide
the popcorn and sodas (and coffee, tea and snacks); you provide opinions
and discussion!\n \nWhat: Sacramento For Democracy Nov. Meeting \nWhen:
  Wednesday, Nov. 7th, 7:00 - 9:00 PM \nWhere: Arden Dimick Library \n

Northrop\n\nAlso on the agenda:\nUpdates on our local Congressional
candidates, Dr. Bill Durston and Lt. Colonel Charlie Brown. \nPDA's
Progressive Challenge 2008 - Endorsed by leading peace and justice
advocates such as Jim Hightower, Mayor Rocky Anderson, Bill Fletcher, Jr,
Tom Hayden, and others, “Progressive Challenge 2008” will be utilized
in the coming months by activists to confront candidates for office,
including presidential candidates. Find out more at our meeting!
http://www.progressive2008.org/index.jsp \nA brief overview of November

and hope to see you there!\n\nGina Rowe\nSacramento for Democracy Steering
Committee\n\n\n“PREPARE TO BE RIVETED. NO END IN SIGHT IS WITHOUT
QUESTION THE MOST IMPORTANT MOVIE YOU ARE LIKELY TO SEE THIS YEAR.” –
Richard Schickel, Time\n\n“THIS POWERHOUSE OF A MOVIE SHOULD BE REQUIRED
VIEWING FOR EVERY MEMBER OF CONGRESS. Lucid, without partisan rhetoric, and
not to be missed.” – David Ansen, Newsweek\n\n“TWO VERY BIG THUMBS
UP. IT IS ESSENTIAL VIEWING FOR ANY PATRIOT. I LOVE THIS FILM BECAUSE I
LOVE MY COUNTRY” – Richard Roeper, Ebert & Roeper\n\n“AN ABSOLUTELY
VITAL FILM. Exacting, enraging and revelatory. A clear, temperate and
devastating account of high level arrogance and incompetence.” – A.O.
Scott, New York Times\n\n“THE MOVIE IS A CLASSIC. An extraordinary,
elegant looking film.” – David Denby, New Yorker\n\n“PLEASE SEND
EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO SEE IT. The film convicts the Bush Administration more
clearly, specifically and forcefully than any previous documentary, and
more wrenchingly than any book could do.” – Stuart Klawans, The
Nation\n\n“INCENDIARY, METICULOUS, THOROUGHLY ENGROSSING AND QUIETLY
DEVASTATING.” – David Edelstein, New York Magazine\n\n“THE MOST
COMPELLING AND LEAST PARTISAN OF ALL THE IRAQ DOCUMENTARIES.” – Jack
Matthews, NY Daily News\n\n“THE FIRST CAN’T-MISS IRAQ DOC TO APPEAR
THUS FAR AND THE FIRST TO GIVE US THE BIG PICTURE.” – Paul Arthur, Film
Comment\n\n“FOR THOSE WHO SEE IT, ‘NO END IN SIGHT’ WILL BE AMONG THE
 YEAR’S MOST MEMORABLE EVENTS.” – Andrew O’Hehir, Salon\n\n“I’VE
NEVER BEEN MADE TO FEEL SO REAL-WORLD ENRAGED BY A MOVIE IN ALL MY LIFE. I
had a somewhat thorough grasp of the situation in Iraq, but after seeing
it, it felt as if someone turned the lens and sharpened the focus. AN
ABSOLUTE CONTENDER FOR BEST FEATURE DOCUMENTARY.” – Jeffrey Wells,
Hollywood Elsewhere\n\n“A COOLHEADED DEVASTATING EXPOSE. It leaves you
furious, yet offers the catharsis of cold, hard truth.” – Owen
Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly\n\n“A SURPRISING FIREBOMB OF A FILM.”
 – Marshall Fine, NY Daily News\n\n“THE RARE AMERICAN DOCUMENTARY THAT
DOESN’T PREACH TO THE CONVERTED. Masterfully edited and cumulatively
walloping. The evidence speaks for itself.” – Rob Nelson, Village
Voice\n\n“EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO SUSPECT ABOUT THIS ADMINISTRATION’S
WARMONGERS BUT WERE AFRAID TO FULLY BELIEVE? HERE IT IS.” – Rob Nelson,
Village Voice \n\n“MASTERFUL. ENRAGING. APOCALYPTIC.” – Rob Nelson,
Village Voice\n\n“It breathes fire with its lucid, unblinking
condemnation of the current administration’s policy failures.” – Ty
Burr, Boston Globe\n\n“UNBIASED, PIERCING AND POWERFUL” – Andrew
O’Hehir, Salon\n\n“**** A MOVIE EVERY AMERICAN SHOULD SEE.” – Jeff
Craig, Sixty Second Preview\n\n“Conveys its information in a compelling
and damning fashion that never descends into cheap agitprop.” - Premiere
 \n\n“IMPRESSIVE. A step-by-step deconstruction of a staggering foreign
policy disaster.” – Jason Silverman, Wired\n\n
