DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nI have been looking forward to this showing all summer, no for as
long\nas we've been doing GDI, no maybe my entire life. Since I was wee
I\nimagined a twisted, blasted landscape in which I, the sole
survivor,\ncould finally live out my dreams of freedom and watch the earth
regrow\nand reclaim the cancerous works of mankind. On Friday we water
the\nseeds of the apocalypse. Come join us.
 -Rico\n\n\n\nGuerilla\nDrive-In Presents\n\n\n\nPost-Apocalyptic\nFilm
Festival\nFriday Aug 26th,\n8pm\nCoast Road Beach, off Hwy 1\n(Directions
below)\nAlways Free!\n\n\n\nPicture this: burning barrels, an apocalyptic
landscape, bleak and\ninspiring films projected on a tattered piece of
canvas, and the\ndownfall of civilization at 32 frames per second. We're
also thinking\nsleeping out under the stars and the full moon in a desolate
landscape\nhuddled together for protection against the elements and
the\nscavengers, sharing what we have and building community and a new
world\nin the ruin of the old. Films include Ever Since the World
Ended,\nLa Jetee, segments of Akira Kurosawa's Dreams, The\nQuiet Earth,
and much more. \n\n\nBRING: Only what you can carry away from the burning
cities. \nWarm clothes, your post-apocalyptic fantasies and dreams,
blankets,\npillows, a sleeping bag, friends, food & drink to share.
\n\nAPOCALYPTIC WASTELAND LOCATION: From Santa Cruz, go north on\nHighway
1, turn left on\nCoast Road (about 4 miles north of Santa Cruz), if you are
driving,\npark there on Coast Road (being respectful not to block the road
or\npeople's driveways), from here you are on foot. Near the north end
of\nCoast Road is an access road with a gate (and Do Not Enter signs
--\nsilence along this part) -- walk down the access road\ntoward the beach
and the railroad tracks. When you reach the railroad\ntracks, turn left
and follow the tracks south about a 100 feet. From\nthere look for signs
and a trail heading to a secluded beach. \n\n\nSANTA CRUZ GUERILLA
DRIVE-IN is an outdoor movie theater under\nthe stars that springs up
unexpectedly in the fields and industrial\nwastelands. Beyond showing great
movies and bringing a broad community\ntogether, part of our mission is
helping reclaim public space and\ntransforming our urban environment into
the joyful playground it should\nbe.\n\nBREAKING NEWS, updated schedule,
