Spike Lee Film "When the Levees Broke" \nBerkeley Fellowship of Unitarian
Universalists \n1924 Cedar at Bonita, a block above MLK Jr Wy \nBerkeley,
CA 94709 \nwheelchair access \n\n"WHEN THE LEVEES BROKE: A REQUIEM IN FOUR
ACTS" \nWatched the unfolding drama of Katrina on the news, director Spike
Lee was shocked by the scale of the disaster and the slow and inept
response of emergency recovery efforts. \nHe was moved to document this
modern American tragedy, a morality play witnessed worldwide. Each hour
long act deals with an aspect of the events that preceded and followed
Katrina's passage through New Orleans. The film is an intimate portrait of
New Orleans in the wake of the destruction, and tells heartbreaking
personal stories of those who endured this harrowing ordeal and survived to
tell of their misery, despair and triumph. \nDonations welcome. No one
turned away. \nSponsored by BFUU's Social Justice Committee \nInfo: Cynthia
