DESCRIPTION:Urban Alliance for Sustainability's Green Movie Night provides a casual
space for you to meet others in the local sustainability movement and
encourages open discussion. Local organizations participate in our Q/A
discussions with the goal of creating effective collaborations and
 solutions.\n\nThis Month's Films:\n\n"We Are Traffic!" \nIn over 200
cities in 14 different countries, Critical Mass has become a monthly ritual
of reclaiming the streets by bicycle activists riding en masse. With
traffic congestion, pollution, and road rage on the rise, growing numbers
around the world are advocating for transportation alternatives, and
Critical Mass is at the cutting edge of this mindset. "We Are Traffic!"
tracks this leaderless, grassroots movement from its beginnings in San
Francisco in 1992 to its spread across the globe. With a radical
direct-action approach the participants of Critical Mass are celebrating
the bicycle and in turn taking on perhaps the century's most sacred cow:
the automobile. \n\n"Winning the Oil Endgame"\nIn his presentation for
the 2005 Bioneers conference, Amory Lovins paints a picture of how we might
be able to transform the fossil fuel dependent automobile complex through
innovations in manufacturing and fuel sourcing. A controversial point of
view sure to get discussion going. \n\nForum Speaker:\n\nAndy Thornley,
Program Director for the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition\nA former chair of
the SF Bicycle Advisory Committee, Andy currently serves as chair of the
Transportation and Land Use Coalition's board of directors. He's also a
Founding Roustabout with the San Francisco Ocean Film Festival, mounting
its 5th annual festival in February 2007. \n\nAfter the Movie:\n\nProlong
the conversation down the block at ELIXIR, San Francisco's 2nd oldest
 saloon and a Green-Certified business (www.elixirsf.com). ELIXIR offers $1
off any organic beer, wine or mixed drink with your ticket stub.\n
