DESCRIPTION:Tuesday, Sept. 11, 7:30 pm. Biking the Americas for the Climate!
Presentation and slide show by Stanford trained global warming scientist
David Kroosma on his 20,000 mile journey by bike through North and South
America, teaching people about global warming. This event is open to the
public. Local, organic snacks and beverages will be served. Hosted by the
Climate Protection Campaign, New College of California, the Sierra Club
Redwood Chapter, and the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition. David Kroodsma, a
Stanford trained global warming scientist, has spent the past two years
traveling by bicycle and teaching communities and students about global
warming. He biked 16,000 miles from California to the southern tip of South
America, and now has biked 4,000 miles from Boston to Seattle. He is now
biking south, and will finish in the San Francisco Bay Area on September
 15. On the journey across the U.S., he is joined by fellow climate expert
Bill Bradlee. During this evening presentation, David and Bill will share
great pictures, videos and stories about how climate change is affecting
different regions of the continent. They talk about how global warming will
both affect the far end of the earth, and your backyard, giving examples
from their travels. The slideshow concludes with a discussion of what we
can do, and about our special opportunity to make a difference as United
States citizens. For more information visit www.rideforclimate.com \n
