 Network\nand How Does its Work Affect Our Own Community?\n\nSunday, July 
 8th\n5:00 - 6:30 pm\n\nThey have organized around a simple idea -- "that at 
 strategic moments our many organizations should join forces around a 
 clearly articulated agenda to promote and uphold the rights of a healthy 
 community".\n\nJoe Feller, Phil Tucker, and John Nunes will present an 
 overview of the California Healthy Communities Network and will give an 
 update on the organization's struggles, victories and future plans in and 
 around Alameda County.  We will learn about a recent victory in Livermore 
 as will as an ongoing struggle in the city of Alameda against a massive big 
 box development on the island.  They will also discuss Wal-Mart's proposed 
 Merced distribution center which will be critical in all future Wal-Mart 
 site struggles.\n\nPlease come and bring your questions because as always, 
 our speakers will be interested in a dialogue.\n\nBeverages and snacks will 
 be provided.\n\nLOCATION: Niebyl-Proctor Library\n6501 Telegraph Ave. at 
 65th in North Oakland.\n\nDIRECTIONS: One block north of Alcatraz on the 
 West\nside of Telegraph, wheelchair accessible. Served directly\nby AC

 programs &\ndiscussions sponsored by the Outreach Working Group of\nthe 
 Green Party of Alameda County. They are held on\nthe 2nd Sunday of each

 Party of Alameda County\nfollows at 6:45 p.m. Council meetings are always
