DESCRIPTION:Labor history walk with ILWU Local 10 longshoreman Jack Heyman and labor
 historian Louis Priscoat from Harry Bridges Plaza, named after the famous
 organizer of the longshore workers. This walk by the key historical sites
 in this important US labor struggle and history talk will look at the
 causes of the 1934 San Francisco general strike and why it was successful;
 how the strike was organized and why the issues in that strike are still
 relevant to working people today. Remember, it was thanks to the 1934
 general strikes in San Francisco, Minneapolis and Toledo that in 1935 we
 won Social Security, unemployment insurance and with the Wagner Act, the
 right to organize into labor unions. \n
