DESCRIPTION:Support is needed at the San Francisco Planning Commission this \nThursday, 
 June 21 for the "Mr. Nice Guy" medical cannabis \ndispensary.  Mr. Nice Guy 
 is a popular, well-run dispensary that \nserves patients in its 
 neighborhood, from throughout the City, and \nfrom neighboring areas.  It 
 is in a great location for a dispensary \nand is convenient to 
 transportation and freeway access.  Nobody at \nall lives on the immediate 
 block, the character of which has greatly \nimproved since Mr. Nice Guy 
 opened there two years ago.\n\nAlthough the Planning Commission staff 
 report admits that Mr. Nice \nGuy is compliant with the various criteria 
 set forth in San \nFrancisco's ordinance, the report nevertheless 
 recommends rejecting \nthe application because of supposed neighborhood 
 opposition.  The \nproblem is this:  One neighbor who lives a couple of 
 blocks away is a \npolitical consultant down on the Peninsula.  He has 
 whipped up \nopposition among some neighbors, generating 50 letters to the 
 \nPlanning Commission staff, decrying the alleged proliferation of 
 \ndispensaries in the vicinity.\n\nWe need a large turnout of medical 
 cannabis supporters at the \nPlanning Commission hearing to counteract the 
 frenzied, prejudiced \nneighbors.  The hearing will be at San Francisco 
 City Hall, room 400, \non Thursday, June 21.  The hearing is scheduled to 
 begin at 2:00 \np.m., and they may address this issue around 3:00 p.m.
