DESCRIPTION:There will be a Grade-In/Rally, Tuesday, June 12, 11:30, at Bay Tree Plaza. 
 The UAW Local 2865, the union for TA's at UCSC, is currently bargaining 
 with the university. The main issue right now is getting greater 
 protections against excessive workload. Unfortunately, the university has 
 been dragging its feet on our proposals. The grade-in will serve to 
 dramatize the union's bargaining demands for greater workload protections. 
 One of our main proposals is to link our workloads as TA's to the quality 
 of education of undergraduates -- we want protections against out of 
 control class sizes.\n\nThe point is to show the university that we're 
 serious, that we mean business. So bring stuff to grade if you have it, or 
 just come to support demands for greater workload protections. (The 
 contract we're negotiating will be in place for the next three 
 years!)\n\nThere is a general membership meeting for the union this 
 Thursday at 5 pm at the Grad Student Commons. All are welcomed!\n
