DESCRIPTION:THE GLOBAL GARDENER with Bill Mollison \n\nAustralian naturalist, Bill
Mollison, has travelled to over 70 countries developing fully integrated,
self-sufficient communities. He coined the word "permaculture" to signify
sustainable agriculture as well as permanent culture. Permaculture weaves
together microclimate, annual and perennial plants, animals, soils, water
management and human needs into intricately connected productive
communities. As a comprehensive system of practical ecology, permaculture
teaches sensible earthcare as the key to a sustainable future in harmony
with the natural world. This film demonstrates the success of practical
ecology in 4 major bioregions: the tripics, drylands, temperate regions,
and urban zones. Bill Mollison has proved that even in the most difficult
conditions permaculture empowers people to turn wastelands into food
forests. \n\nHumanist Hall is wheelchair accessible on 28th Street.
\n\nBefore and after the film, everyone's invited to indulge in our
Humanist Tea House. \n\n$5 donations are accepted.\n
