DESCRIPTION:Friday, June 1 \nDead End Drive-In\n\nLocation: Fools Foundation - 1025
19th St. Off of K St, between 19th and 20th, next to the back-end of Old
Spaghetti Factory. 7:00 PM. Admission: $5.00.\n \nThis Australian indie B
flick from 1986 actually has a lot more to offer than just trashy action.
Set in the future of 1994 in a globally unstable society, drive-ins are
being used by the Australian government as defacto concentration camps in
which the unemployed and undesirables are entrapped. Mixing violence, sex,
and cheesy 80's synth with social critiques about government control,
racism and unemployment? Yep, they did it with this. And while much of it
may appear dated, the messages are just as pertinent today as they were
then. Not an intellectual film by any stretch of the imagination, but it's
always been an interesting cult film due to the collision of fun trash and
important social commentary. \n\nWe are doing regular weekly film
screenings with Fools Foundation on Fridays at 7 PM - most are $5 (unless
otherwise noted in advance), and will have filmmakers out from time to
 time. \n\n\nYou can always check
