DESCRIPTION:6/7: Israel & Palestine - What Peace Could Look Like \nIsrael & Palestine -
What Peace Could Look Like \nSpeakers: Rabbi Jeremy Milgrom and Husam El
Nounou \n\nPlease join human rights activists, Rabbi Jeremy Milgrom, and
Husam El Nounou, who will discuss their efforts for a non-violent solution
to the Israel-Palestine conflict, focusing especially on their work with
The Rebuilding Alliance, a non-profit organization which seeks to rebuild
Palestinian homes demolished by Israel. They will also address particular
impacts on Palestinian women and their participation in rebuilding their
communities. \n\nRabbi Jeremy Milgrom, Jerusalem Peace Activist, is an
American-born rabbi who has lived in Israel since '68, involved in Israeli
peace camp initiatives for over 29 years. Rabbi Milgrom co-founded Clergy
for Peace and lectures in Israel and Europe on Judaism, non-violence, and
peace. Currently working with UNOCHA to save the Jahalin Bedouin villages
slated to be removed by the Israeli Separation Wall he witnessed the
anguish of countless Palestinian families as their homes were demolished by
Israeli bulldozers, and sees rebuilding as way to ameliorate the suffering
of innocent people and push for policy change. \n\nHusam El Nounou, Gaza
Peace Activist, Cofounder of the Gaza Community Mental Health Programme
along with Dr. Eyad El Sarraj. Editor-in-chief of the bi-monthly magazine,
Amwaj, Mr. El Nounou represents GCMHP in the Palestinian Non-governmental
Organizations Network (PNGO) where he served as the first coordinator for
the Network Steering Committee. Fluent in English and his native Arabic,
traveled to the U.S. in 2000 as part of the "International Visitors
Programme" organized by the US State Department. Mr. El Nounou deeply
believes in peace and coexistence and sees this as a human rights issue,
one that ordinary people can impact. \n\nCost: Donation suggested $10-$25
Fundraiser for The Rebuilding Alliance \n\nSponsors: Bay Area Women in
Black, Kehilla Community Synagogue \n\nThe Rebuilding Alliance \nThe
Rebuilding Alliance, nonprofit organization, rebuilds homes and communities
in regions of war and occupation. We advocate for government policies
towards these regions based on human rights and international law. Through
a mutual commitment to justice, we create alliances among our supporters,
partners, and those who suffer injustice and violence, yet resist through
rebuilding. Our projects are symbols of hope that help rebuild shattered
communities and offer people around the world immediate ways to make peace,
starting with the tangible support of a family's right to a home. \n\nThe
Rebuilding Alliance is very proud to announce the opening of the first home
in the Rachel Corrie Rebuilding Campaign in Gaza, a home for the
Palestinian family Rachel Corrie sought to protect. With your help, we will
rebuild many more. \n\nFor more information contact
