DESCRIPTION:Rally To Free Mumia Abu-Jamal\nThursday, May 17, 2007 \n4-6PM\nSan Jose
Federal Building\n2nd and San Carlos St\nSan Jose, CA \n\n\nDeath Row
political prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal is going to have essentially his last
best shot at a new trial on May 17, 2007. Robert Bryan will be presenting
one hour of oral arguments before the third circuit court of appeals. Mumia
Abu-Jamal was wrongfully convicted of killing Philadelphia police officer
Daniel Faulkner in an altercation that took place on Dec 9, 1981. Lots of
evidence exists to suggest that Mumia is innocent, including the confession
of a hit man, Arnold Beverly, who claims that he, not Mumia, shot and
killed Officer Faulkner. Bryan will be focusing on a few main points as
part of the appeal:\n\n* The prosecutor's attempt to dilute the presumption
of innocence by stating that if Mumia were convicted he would have appeal
after appeal.\n* The racist exclusion of a majority of the black jurors in
the jury pool from serving on Mumia's jury.\n* The racist bias of Judge
 Sabo during the appeals process.\n\n
