 spread the word!\n\nThis film shows the struggle for decent housing 
 and\njobs in a township in Durban. The residents begin to\nstruggle for 
 justice and are met with repression.\n\nAfter democracy was won in South 
 Africa in 1994, a\npromise by the new ANC government was to 
 deliver\nhousing to the poorest of the poor. Delivery on this\npromise has 
 been slow with large shacklands still very\nmuch a part of South African 
 life. Twelve years later,\nloyal and patient shackdwellers all over the 
 country\nare mobilising against what they perceive to be a 
 new\noppression.\n\nThe shackdwellers movement's –Abahlali base 
 Mjondolo\nevolved in Durban, a city on the east coast of South\nAfrica. It 
 incorporates various informal shacklands in\nand around the city. Using the 
 might of their united\nnumbers, Abahlali is mobilising against slow 
 delivery\nand relocations planned by Municipal councillors.\nTheir struggle 
 is ongoing.\n\nThe documentary film, (originally 3 different films)\nwas 
 shot specifically for viewing by the communities\non a non-professional 
 Sony digital handycam. They were\nshot in the lead up to and during protest 
 marches,\nquickly edited, then screened outdoors in the\ndifferent informal 
 settlements using a generator,\nportable screen and data 
 projector.\n\nVisual representations of the unacceptable 
 conditions\nmotivated them to mobilise as a collective around a\nstand of 
 "Enough is enough".\n\nFor further information check
