DESCRIPTION:APISA (Asian & Pacific Islander Student Alliance) presents\n\nLyrical Union 
 is a hip hop event with competitions in the four aspects of hip hop: MC, 
 DJ, break dance, and graffiti.\n\nThis is where anybody and everybody is 
 encouraged to shine and expose their talents as conscious hip hop 
 artists.\n\nEach year Lyrical Union has a theme; last year it was “Who 
 Killed Ethnic Studies”, three years ago it was “Save SOAR”, this year 
 it's Asian American Studies. The theme sets the focus of the 
 event.\n\nArtists sign-up for competitions when doors open\n\nHalf of the 
 event depends on audience participation. The audience decides who the 
 winner is for each of the four competitions.\n\nAt this event there is no 
 tolerance for 1) bad sportsmanship, 2) fowl language, and 3) homophobic, 
 sexists, and racist language.\n\nPrizes given to winners\n
