DESCRIPTION:\n\n \nCome stand like a tree in support of our tree sitters at UC
Berkeley’s Oak Grove on Sunday, March 4th, from 2-3 PM. Become initiated
into thesis of Dr. Michael Mayer’s book and learn how Tai Chi and Qigong
are initiatory traditions which stems from a long- lost lineage that
includes self- healing, spiritual unfoldment, self-defense and changing
your life stance through “shape shifting.” You'll learn why Standing
like a Tree Qigong (zhan zhuang) has been called “the million dollar
secret of qigong,” how the animal forms of Qigong can help you reactivate
your primordial self, and why Yi Chuan Walking Meditation adds something
vital to traditions of Walking Meditation. Sink your roots into an age-old,
cross-cultural shamanic tradition, which grew from adepts who studied
nature; this tradition has much to teach us today about how to adopt a
grounded stance, sink our chi, and keep our hearts open during times of
stress and as we are protesting injustice.\n \nDr. Michael Mayer
synthesized Bodymind Healing Qigong, over 30 years of training with some
of the most respected Tai Chi and Qigong masters. Dr. Mayer is a
psychologist, Qigong teacher, and award-winning author of 10 publications
on Bodymind healing. He pioneered the integration of Qigong with Western
bodymind healing methods, co-founded an integrated medical clinic, presents
his approach to bodymind healing at hospitals, universities and
professional conferences, and is a keynote speaker. Michael’s book is,
Secrets to Living Younger Longer: The Self-Healing Path of Qigong, Standing
Meditation and Tai Chi. The accompanying DVD, Bodymind Healing Qigong, is
being used in trauma trainings by Dr. Besssel Van der Kolk, Medical
Director, the Trauma Center, Boston university Medical School.

artist who has been studying shamanic energy work since 2000. More
recently she's been fascinated by and practices Plant Spirit Medicine, a
method that invokes the spirit of plants to heal.\nSusan will be sharing a
brief background on Plant Spirit Medicine, an indigenous tradition found
around the world. She'll follow this by talking about her own experiences
with both learning from her teacher and engaging with plant
spirits.\n\nDavid Weinstein is a Bay Area writer, psychotherapist and
spiritual activist. He will be presenting how to listen to the wisdom of
trees, how to 'hear' their stories and essences for healing and
 transformation.\n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2007/03/02/18371629.php
