DESCRIPTION:Hear first-hand from women who are breaking free of low paying jobs,
substance abuse, run-ins with the law and other realities that trap women
into permanently marginal lives.\n\nSee a powerful video that chronicles
the activities and camaraderie of a diverse group of low-income women going
through the Women Ventures Project's job skills training for livable wage
non-traditional careers.\n\nListen as Rhea Hunter, Gemma founder and staff
member, shares her story, tells us how she’s come so far in spite of the
lack of resources in our community to help women who are similarly
situated. Gemma is committed to helping women reunite with their families
and the community after incarceration, and to stop the “revolving door”
of incarceration for them and their children. Gemma includes service and
advocacy to address homelessness, affordable housing, education and
economic participation.\n\nHelp us to understand and attack the root causes
of poverty here in Santa Cruz County. Help us work for justice.\n\n
