 MotherSpeak\n\nInternational Women’s Day (March 8) acknowledges the
contribution of women to the strengthening of international peace and
security. The purpose of the day is to recognize that securing peace and
social progress and the full enjoyment of human rights and fundamental
freedoms requires the active participation, equality and development of
women. We feel that our fundamental right has been thwarted for the past
four years by our nation’s aggressive actions in this illegal and immoral
war and occupation of Iraq. We demand these war policies be changed.\n\nAs
we approach the 4th anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq (March 20), we
know that over 3,200 of our US troops – our sons and daughters -- have
died in this illegal war and occupation of Iraq and over 650,000 Iraqis
have perished in killings that continue day after day. In remembrance of
all who died, "die-in" participants will lie down blocking the Federal
Building doors and cover themselves with white sheets in lieu of shrouds
with the message, “No business as usual while the killing and dying
continue in Iraq."\n\nPLEASE JOIN US! The public is invited to bear
witness, die-in, and support those willing to commit civil disobedience.
People will not risk arrest by joining in the march, ongoing vigil for
peace, die-in program, or supporting those willing to support civil
disobedience. Your presence is needed!\n\n\nStop Funding & End the
Occupation of Iraq!\n Bring Our Troops Home Now & Compassionate
Care for Veterans!\n Remember All the Iraqis and US
Troops Who Have Died!\n Support Lt. Ehren Watada
and Other Military Resisters!\n\n\n\nSupport Lt. Ehren Watada--Refuse
Illegal War! Lt. Watada is the first commissioned officer in the US
military to refuse deployment to Iraq because he believes it is an illegal
and immoral war. The military should accept his decision of conscience and
resignation rather than subject Lt. Watada to a second court martial
hearing on March 19 with a possible sentence of six years in a maximum
security military prison. For more information, go to
