DESCRIPTION: 24 hours a Day through Th.\nWE NEED SPEAKERS TO JOIN OUR MOVEMENT - PLEASE
LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN COME\nFEB 15TH @ SSU!!!!!!!!! (Please forward this
email to anyone who you\nbelieve may be interested)\n\nHello
everyone!\n\nMy name is Camelia and some of you may remember me from Last
Springs\nStudent day of Resistance, Action and Awareness at Sonoma State
University\n(or more recently at the World Can't Wait event at SSU).\n\nFor
those who may not be aware, a group of students from SSU and SRJC
are\nworking frantically to organize an anti-war event for the week of Feb
12th\non SSU campus (next week!!) The short notice is not due to poor
planning,\nbut a challenge put forth by other college campuses nation wide
who are\nplanning similar events.\n\nAt Sonoma State, we are planning a
week long CAMP - IN, a peaceful\ndemonstration by SSU students to show our
solidarity with other anti-war\nefforts taking place around the world. From
Monday February 12th through\nThursday the 15th, we will camp out on the
Sonoma State campus to make a\nstatement, END THE WAR - NOT ONE MORE LIFE
SHOULD BE LOST!\n\nThe week's events will be closed with a campus wide
STRIKE on February\n15th (with a rally at 12pm and 5pm), a call for
students to band together,\nDON'T GO TO CLASS, DON'T GOT TO WORK to protest
a shameful war based on\nlies, where countless innocent people are losing
their lives daily. It is\nan opportunity for students and community members
alike to stand up and\nuse their voices to say we will not be lied to any
longer, we will not\nsupport war, or an administration who chooses to
sacrifice the lives of\nour youth in seemingly never ending conflicts
overseas.\n\nI WANT TO INVITE ALL OF YOU to come to our final meeting this
Sunday at\nSonoma State. Because of the spontaneous nature of this event,
we have not\nhad much time to plan out speakers. We need your
support.\n\nWE ARE LOOKING FOR SPEAKERS AND PEOPLE/ORGS TO FACILITATE
TEACH-INS\n(either during the week days Feb 12-14th, or the day of the
strike).\n\nSome of you made amazingly passionate speeches at last years
event, I\nwould love to have you come this year!!!\n\nWe will be holding
the meeting from 8-9pm on the first floor of the\nlibrary Sunday night.
(for those unfamiliar to the campus, it is located\nnear Charlie Browns
Cafe, on the bottom floor of the library) It will be\nlocated in the first,
large meeting room just to the left as you enter the\nfirst floor. The
entrance is just beyond the security sensors and before\nthe information
desk. If the room is occupied by another group for some\nreason, let's meet
at the large desks in the middle of the first floor.\nYOU WON'T MISS
US!\n\nThis event has been endorsed by Howard Zinn and we have gained the
support\nof the SSU faculty. All we need now is the support of leading anti
war\nactivists from our community to support our action. With your help I
know\nit will happen!!\n\nHope to hear from you soon, and see everyone at
the meeting!\n\nIn peace and solidarity,\n\nCamelia\n\nIf you have any
questions, please email me\n\nAdd by David Quinley
