City Council, District 1, making him the only Republican on the 9-member
council. He'll talk to us about the challenges he'll face representing San
Jose residents (a.k.a. taxpayers), goals for his term in office, and what
SVTA members can do to support the principles of fiscal conservatism he
hopes to bring to the Council of the city of San Jose--the "capital of
Silicon Valley."\n\nJOHN R. GRAHAM is Director of Health Care Studies at
Pacific Research Institute, author of a paper on the challenge of the
uninsured in California, and the primary author of the Health Policy
Prescriptions series, which recently has addressed reforming Medicaid,
expanding Health Savings Accounts, & pharmaceutical legal liabilities. He
has written on prescription drug regulation, pricing medicines, and medical
savings accounts. Before joining Pacific Research Institute, Graham was
Director of Health & Pharmaceutical Policy Research at Canada’s Fraser
Institute. He speaks frequently on radio and television, and at conferences
 worldwide. \n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2007/01/29/18353608.php
