DESCRIPTION:Garment workers in El Salvador attempt to organize their factory in the
face of anti-union repression, but management pulls out hoping to crush the
movement. Thanks to international solidarity, in particular student
organizing, the union not only forms but takes over production. Meanwhile
in California, the AFSCME union calls a statewide strike at all UC campuses
to win a new contract, and Santa Cruz becomes the focal point when students
and workers shut down their university. \n\nCome see how these events play
out through two films \nby Media Insurgente--Producing Just Garments and
Estamos Aquí--followed by a discussion with the filmmakers and the workers
involved in these struggles.\n\n$5-10 Sliding Scale\n(no one turned away
