DESCRIPTION:Do powerful corporations exert an unequal and unfair influence over
American government?\n\nAt the January 16 WILPF meeting Professor Sheldon
Kamieniecki, Dean of the Division of Social Sciences at UCSC, will speak
about how corporations have influenced the Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA), Congress, and the courts on environmental issues since the rise of
the modern environmental movement. Prof. Kamieniecki will address our
concerns about the rising power of corporations over the needs of
individuals, and give us insights on how we may improve our effectiveness
as social justice activists in today’s rapidly changing political
 environment.\n\n\n
