DESCRIPTION:We’ve Come Undone \nWritten and Performed by Kayhan Irani \nA series of
moving monologues inspired by stories from the Arab, Muslim, American and
South Asian communities. \nFrom a young girl’s bewilderment at her
father’s disappearance, to an INS agent’s rant and a Sikh woman’s
humorous conversation with an arsonist, the characters’ truths aim to
enlighten, activate and inspire. \nInterweaving drama, dance, music and
multimedia, this poignant multidisciplinary piece explores the impact of
recent legislation on several communities in the US that are experiencing
the trauma of detention, disappearance and deportation. \n‘We’ve Come
Undone’ offers an invaluable collection of insights and perspectives for
any American seeking to survive and combat the culture of fear and asks the
questions: what happens when deception and suspicion are allowed to
permeate the fabric of our society and embed into the weave? How does that
affect our behavior and who we become, individually and as a society?
\nKayhan has created traditional and non-traditional theater at various
venues in New York such as Lincoln Center, The Public Theater, Chashama
Theater, The Lower East Side Tenement Museum, and at Burning Man and on
city streets. "We’ve Come Undone" combines story-telling and performance
with audience interaction. For more about Kayhan and her work please visit
