DESCRIPTION:Nov. 26, Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists, Sunday Service,
 \n10:30 –12:00 am\nBFUU Hall, 1924 Cedar (at Bonita)\nGRATITUDE AND
BUILDING BRIDGES\nPresenter: Nadia McCaffrey, with music by Annie and the
Vets\nOn this Thanksgiving weekend we will reflect with Gold Star mom Nadia
McCaffrey on the love that gives life meaning and the seeds of peace we can
all plant. After experiencing the loss of her only son in a “war based on
lies”, Nadia will share her meditation on gratefulness and the connection
we have all felt with all life. Since her son Patrick died on June 22,
2004, Nadia has fearlessly spoken truth to power. She has grieved with
Iraqi families who have lost so much, recognizing that people want to live
in peace. She shone light on her son Patrick’s coffin when he was
returned to his California home and helped the Pentagon tell the facts
about his death..\n\nNadia was born in France, came to America as a young
woman, and for decades led non-profit Compassion in Action and Angelstaff
Hospice, training people to work with death and dying. One of her special
projects now is a retreat center for Iraq veterans who need consistent
caring and support.\n\nLunch will be served after the service\nWheelchair
 accessible\n\n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2006/11/19/18331134.php
