 10, 2006, 5:00pm\nfree and open to the public\n\nSimin Farkhondeh, is an 
 award winning independent filmmaker, educator, and artist living in New 
 York. She was born in Germany and raised in Iran. She has been working as 
 an independent video producer, educator, and activist in New York, Europe, 
 and Iran. She was co-producer and co-director of the Gulf Crisis TV 
 Project, a ten part series that aired on PBS and on Channel 4 in England 
 and was given the Global Africa Award. From 1994 to 2002, Farkhondeh 
 directed and produced Labor at the Crossroads (LABORX), an American Social 
 History Project production for and about working people, which aired on 
 CUNY TV. The LABORX collection is currently being archived and will be a 
 part of the New York University Tamiment Library/Robert F. Wagner Labor 
 Archives. In 1996 Farkhondeh created the curriculum for a worker video 
 training program, which she co-taught until 2000. Farkhondeh is a recipient 
 of the Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship for Who Gives Kisses Freely From 
 Her Lips, a video about temporary marriage in Iranian culture. Currently 
 she is editing Caught Between Two Worlds: Iranians in the USA.\n
