DESCRIPTION:David Suzuki, internationally renowned scientist and host of many popular 
 Canadian television series, is also the author of more than forty books, 
 including The Sacred Balance, Tree, and Good News for a Change, and the 
 just released David Suzuki, The Autobiography.  He is a world leader in 
 sustainable ecology.  In 1969 he first appeared on television screens 
 across Canada as the host of Suzuki on Science, which two years later 
 metamorphosed into Science Magazine. In 1979 he began hosting the CBC 
 series The Nature of Things, which is viewed now in fifty countries around 
 the world.  His other television specials include A Planet for the Taking 
 (1985), which won a United Nations’ award, and The Sacred Balance (2002). 
  His PBS series on DNA, The Secret of Life, was exceptionally popular 
 internationally, as was his Discovery Channel 5-part series, The Brain: The 
 Universe Within.   \n\nOver the years Suzuki has received numerous Canadian 
 and international awards. Canada’s First Nations people have given him 
 many tributes, along with five names: Big Mountain, Man Who Knows Much, My 
 Own, Sacred Mountain, and Eagle Child. He lives in Vancouver, British
