 evidence-based youth\ncrime prevention and discuss how they are likely to 
 be received and\nutilized by public officials and

 how community-based organizations can implement\neffective youth violence 
 prevention programs based on evidence from\nresearch.\n\nCo-sponsored by 
 the National Council on Crime and Delinquency (NCCD)\n\nDr. Peter Greenwood 
 is a nationally recognized expert in the fields of\njuvenile justice, 
 delinquency prevention and sentencing policy.  He is a\nFellow of the 
 Academy of Experimental Criminology and recipient of the\nAugust Volmer 
 Award from American Society of Criminology.  Dr. Greenwood\nhas served on 
 the Advisory Board for the Blueprints Project, and as the\nfounding 
 Director of the RAND Corporation?s Criminal Justice Program. He\ncurrently 
 serves on the Board of VisionQuest and as a private consultant\nto other 
 juvenile corrections organizations attempting to make their\nprograms more 
 evidence-based. He has published widely in the areas of\nviolence 
 prevention, juvenile justice, criminal careers, sentencing,\ncorrections, 
 law enforcement and cyber crime. His most recent book,\npublished by the 
 University of Chicago Press, is entitled Changing Lives:\nDelinquency 
 Prevention as Crime Control Policy.\n\nFranklin Zimring is the William G. 
 Simon Professor of Law and Wolfen\nDistinguished Scholar at Boalt School of 
 Law. Zimring's major fields of\ninterest are criminal justice and family 
 law, with special emphasis on the\nuse of empirical research to inform 
 legal policy. He is a fellow of the\nAmerican Society of Criminology and a 
 member of the American Academy of\nArts and Sciences. He is the principal 
 investigator for the Center on\nCulture, Immigration and Youth Violence 
 Prevention. Zimring is the author\nor co-author of many books on topics 
 including deterrence, the changing\nlegal world of adolescence, capital 
 punishment, the scale of imprisonment,\nand drug control. Recent books 
 include The Contradictions of American\nCapital Punishment (2003), American 
 Youth Violence (1998), and Crime is\nNot the Problem: Violence in America 
 (with Hawkins, 1997).\n\nThese Culture, Immigration and Youth Violence
