Night of Resistance!\n\n6pm-12midnight ( Doors open at 5pm)\n\nOct.
 14th\nPauley Ball Room\n(Corner of Bancroft & Telegraph Ave)\nUC
Berkeley\n\nWhat better way to celebrate Columbus day, than to attend a
night of Indigenous resistance?\n\nAs most of you may know, Oct. 12 is
known officially as Columbus day and serves to recognize the historical
reality of what that man did. What is often left out of the picture is the
mass genocide the came because of that encounter which continues to
today.\n\nA coalition of groups here in Berkeley have gotten together and
planned not only a day to celebrate the unity of Native people here on
campus but to bring solidarity to the many struggles that are happening
through out the Hemisphere.\n\nOn Oct. 14, various student organizations
are putting together a concert that will have more than just great music,
it will have a message of solidarity.\n\nIn particular we will highlight
issues facing the 1st Nations in Canada with land, the issues of sacred
sites here in America, as well as the recent human rights movement by the
Raza community. And finally the struggle of the Indigenous teachers and
campesinos in Oaxaca and Atenco, Mexico.\n\nAlong with our issues we are
highlighting that day, we will have solidarity speakers from through out
the world as well as speakers represented other colonized communities from
the United States.\n\nSpeakers will be represented from: Palestine to the
Philippines.\n\nThe day will be the last day in a week of events that the
Native students at UC Berkeley are planning, to celebrate the local
California Indian population and history.(Attached is the flyer)\n\nThe
event is free and for the people.\n\nBring all your relations!\n
