DESCRIPTION:Clergy & Laity United for Economic Justice of California (CLUE-CA), a 
 newly-formed statewide alliance of faith-based organizations dedicated to 
 ending low-wage poverty, will hold its founding conference October 25-26 in 
 San Francisco.  The conference is entitled, “Faith, Poverty and the 
 Future of California: Building a Values-Based Movement for Economic 
 Justice.”  Over the course of two days, religious and lay leaders from 
 across California will gather to:\n\n Share ideas and effective 
 strategies for supporting economic justice campaigns;\n Build skills for 
 organizing within our congregations, schools and communities;\n 
 Collaborate on statewide campaigns in support of low-wage workers (hotel 
 workers, janitors, casino workers, security guards, grocery workers and 
 more);\n Learn about the important role faith leaders can play in public 
 policy campaigns;\n Network with like-minded faith leaders from across 
 the state;\n Learn about campaigns that address immigration issues and 
 the healthcare crisis in our state;\n Participate in uplifting and 
 inspiring intefaith worship.\n\n
