DESCRIPTION:Friday Sept 22 at 7 PM - $5 gets ya in. Presented by Shiny Object and Fools
 Foundation. Location: Fools Foundation - 1025 19th St, Sacto. 19th & K - in
the alley, in the basement. Digital projection on to a big screen. Seating
is on folding chairs - feel free to bring a pillow or cushion or
whatever.\n\nSirens of the 23rd Century - When beauty is outlawed, only
outlaws will be beautiful! Hyper-colorful, campy, kitschy and androgynous,
this hit of the gay and lesbian film festival circuit is a neoclassical,
sci-fi, fairytale satire set in the 23rd century after cosmetics and
modeling have been outlawed by a fascist government regime. A small,
feminine group of underground Beauty Renegades fights back, led by a
fearless and epic amazon. Starring Rod Chaouqi, Paul D'Addario, Felecia
Faulkner, Trevor Hale, Richard Harder (Star Trek IV), Rachel Klyce, Jim
Letchworth, Marilyn Letchworth, Tina Morasco(TV's Angel and The O.C.), the
notorious Omewenne, Nicole Stanton, and Jennifer Kroot who also wrote and
directed the film. \n\n"Camp of the highest order. Like a co-production
between John Waters and Greg Araki." - Entertainment Today LA. \n\n"Kroot
has made a truly unique vision here, and it is a lot of fun. The cast of
drag queens, some of them quite attractive, is bitchy perfection, and the
dialogue is first rate." - Film Threat \n\n"Enough shenanigans to keep
viewers laughing for hours. (Kroot) takes Sirens places no other female
filmmaker has dared tread." - Curve Magazine \n\n\nWe are doing regular
weekly film screenings with Fools Foundation on Fridays at 7 PM - and most
are $5 (unless otherwise noted in advance), and will have filmmakers out
from time to time. Also in Sept:\n\n9/29/06 The American Astronaut - A rare
chance to see this scifi musical western oddity by Cory McAbee of the band,
The Billy Nayer Show. Unlike anything you've ever seen. Production Designer
Geoff Tuttle is planned to be in attendance at this screening and provide a
brief introduction to the film. \n\nSpooky October's schedule:\n\n10/06
Stomp! Shout! Scream! - a tribute to/satire of the American International
Pictures rock 'n' roll beach party monster movies of the 60's. From the
Producer of "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" and "Squidbillies!"\n\n10/13
Independent America: The Two Lane Search for Mom & Pop - doc by husband and
wife journalist team travel America with only two rules: no traveling on
interestates; and only doing business with Mom & Pop businesses - no
chains. Explores corporate encroachment's impact on small local businesses
around the country. A must see! OK, not too fitting for the month of
Halloween, but this is such an important doc, we did not want to delay
screening it just beacause it's October.\n\n10/22 Ed Wood's "I Woke Up
Early the Day I Died" - directly adapted from Ed Wood's unfilmed script
with Billy Zane (briefly in nurse drag, no less!), and appearances by
Christina Ricci, Nicollette Sheridan, Ron Perlman, Sandra Bernhard, Tippi
Hedren, Ann Magnuson, Eartha Kitt, Andrew McCarthy, Bud Cort, Max Perlich,
Vampira, Conrad Brooks (an Ed Wood staple!), Karen Black, Summer Phoenix,
Tara Reid, John Ritter, Kathy Wood (Ed Wood's wife of many years) and yes,
even more! Never on home video in the US, and with only a couple of
screenings since it was made in 1998, we are excited to offer a rare chance
to see this! \n\n10/27 Hellbent - From writer/director Paul Etheredge-Ouzts
and Joseph Wolf, the co-creator of such horror classics as Halloween and A
Nightmare on Elm Street. Utilizing the formula of 80's slashers, Ouzts and
Wolf create a new horror film with, as the LA Times stated, "a clever and
sexy gay twist." Lots of fun!\n\nMore info
