DESCRIPTION:The Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley in Berkeley, Calif., is
hosting the first-ever U.S. exhibition of photographs depicting workers at
Ground Zero during the weeks following the collapse of the World Trade
Center on September 11, 2001.\n\nThe black-and-white photos were shot by
Boston artist X Bonnie Woods, who was permitted access to Ground Zero as a
photographer in the immediate aftermath of the disaster. Woods’ lens
captures the tenacious spirit and hope of a nation in disbelief and
profound mourning. The photos have been shown in Germany, but this is the
first time Ms. Woods has permitted a U.S. exhibition.\n\nThe exhibition,
Workers at Ground Zero – A Glimpse Behind the Scenes, will be on display
in the atrium of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley at One
Lawson Road in Kensington and open to the public from September 10 to 14,
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A conversation with the artist is scheduled for Sunday,
September 10, at 1 p.m., and an interfaith candlelight vigil will be held
Monday, September 11, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. All events are free and open to
 the public.\n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2006/09/07/18306922.php
