DESCRIPTION:Join the nation's oldest multidisciplinary API arts nonprofit in 
 celebrating the opening night of its 8th annual APAture festival, and 
 wander through the halls of 180 Capp to explore drawings, paintings, 
 textiles, and installations from over 40 visual artists in the Bay Area API 
 community, including featured visual artist Kathy Aoki, whose cheeky, 
 pop-inspired pieces include carvings of little girls turned pirate 
 automatons.\n\nKearny Street Workshop's APATURE FESTIVAL  is an annual 
 multidisciplinary arts event presenting the work of emerging Asian Pacific 
 American (APA) artists living and/or working in the San Francisco Bay Area. 
 Now in its eighth year, APAture includes a visual arts show, film 
 screenings, workshops, literary readings, performances in spoken word, 
 music, dance, theater, and other performance genres, and an area for 
 zinesters and comic artists to display and sell their work. Experience the 
 sights, sounds, and spirit of over 100 Asian Pacific American artists at 
 eight Mission District venues.\n\nABOUT KEARNY STREET WORKSHOP\nKEARNY 
 STREET WORKSHOP (KSW) is the oldest multidisciplinary Asian Pacific 
 American arts organization in the United States. Founded in 1972, KSW’s 
 mission is to produce and present art that enriches and empowers Asian 
 Pacific American\ncommunities. Our vision is to achieve a more just society 
 by connecting Asian Pacific American artists with community members to give 
 voice to our cultural, historical and contemporary issues.
