DESCRIPTION:Join us for the second annual Agape Foundation Peace Prize as we recognize 
 established and emerging Northern California peacemakers. Prizes will  be 
 awarded at a special ceremony at Gallery One in San Francisco, on the 
 International Day of Peace, Thursday, September 21,2006. Wine, delightful 
 hors d'oeuvres and a program to  recognize established and emerging 
 peacemakers. \n\nHonoring: THE 2006 LONG HAUL PRIZE WINNER: Elizabeth 
 Stinson. Having worked for peace and human rights locally, nationally, and  
 internationally for more than 35 years, Elizabeth is currently the Director 
 of the Sonoma County Peace and Justice Center.  In recent years, a major 
 focus of her work has been in high schools and colleges, training youth to 
 counter the military recruiters on their campuses. In addition, since the 
 start of the Iraqi war she has helped more than 400 service men and women 
 separate from various branches of the armed services. \n\nAnd Announcing 
 THE 2006 RISING PEACEMAKER PRIZE WINNER Finalists: Banafsheh Akhlaghi of 
 the National Legal Sanctuary for Community Advancement (NLSCA), 
 Grandmothers Against the War, and Let's Get Free, a project of the Ella 
 Baker Center. This prize recognizes a new peacemaker that has been making a 
 critical difference towards progressive change within the last five years. 
 The  winner of this prize will be announced at the event. \n
